Maryanne Montone Tursi
My passion for nature and the outdoors has directed my focus to painting landscapes. A walk through the woods or a drive along a country road is an occasion to visualize paintings. A vista becomes my canvas; a cloud or tree becomes colors of paint and brushstrokes.
I frequently paint plein aire, on location, where I'm able to observe the effects of light and color first hand. I've always been intrigued by the way light affects one's emotional response to a setting by creating a variety of moods. I strive to capture a mood and atmosphere in my paintings rather than to create a literal interpretation of details. |
